The National Opal Collection
The National Opal Collection is Australia's largest and most comprehensive display of opals, designed to tell the story of how opals were formed and how they are mined today.
Included are opalised relics of animals and plants that existed on the Australian continent over 100 million years ago. You will find many of these fossils exhibited within life like dioramas depicting the ancient environment.
Adjoining the museum is the spectacular showroom with a very large range of opals and beautifully designed opal jewellery available tax-free. Our opals are carefully selected from the mines and many are cut and polished on the premises.
